Hi All.

I bought my 5th mk3 Mondeo today. I usually buy them cheap, drive them until they break and then get another. This one is very low mileage and in very good condition tho so I'm looking at keeping it.

It has a problem with the central locking. It will lock all the doors with the key but it will not deadlock. With the fob it will lock but will unlock again instantly as if a door isn't closed properly. Has anyone got any ideas what this might be? I have loads of spare parts to play around with as I still have my 4th Mondeo sitting on my drive and all the central locking on that one works perfectly. So before the 4th goes to the scrap yard I want to get No.5 sorted.

Old Mondeo 04 2L Zetec,

New Mondeo 03, 2L TDCI

Drivers door actuator is what I thought from reading other problems on here. When I lock it with the key all the doors do lock. I think the drivers door doesn't lock on the fob but I can't be sure yet. I'm going to get a mate to stand on the N/S and listen as I lock it and see if we can hear if there is a lock playing up.

Quick update. Sitting in it and locking it with the fob, driver door does not lock. Everything is pointing to the drivers door actuator. Hope it's not raining tomorrow...

Hi everyone I'm new here. I have 02 zetec s. My driver side front door cannot lock/unlock with key fob while other doors are fine. When I lock/unlock with key it's fine. So I did some research on Internet and I am confused whethere I should buy central lock motor or actuator? Actually I am not even sure whether they are same component or different. Pls tell me which part should I buy to fix my problem. Thank you.

Mine was the actuator. Now that I've changed it it works fine. Just have to sort out the door handle so it sits flush when the weather gets better
