I have located a set of genuine Ford LED headlights for my mondeo. Is it a case of straight swapping out the standard headlights or do I need anything else? Hardware or software?
Don't think it's a straight swap as their are configuration options in the drivers menu on the dash and would need to be programmed in the ecu I'm guessing
As James said above, I'm guessing you will need the correct control modules fitted and activated and a levelling control system fitted. I could be wrong but its never that straightforward as just plug & go.
You might want to check out the 2GFusion website and see if anyone has done the retrofit.
please keep us updated on how you get on, contemplating this very conversion,
having had a cursory look the plugs for the headlights seem the same and i'd imagine the control modules are already in place and it will mostly be software to get them working with a non LED car.
The knob / switch on the dash for the Non LED ones is different to the LED switch.
I believe the non LED headlight switch has manual adjustment level positions 1-4 where the LED one does not.
