Hello everyone,i have a Mondeo 2006 plate and i have the FORD DENSO 7" TOUCHSCREEN Navigation built in. My DVD ROM drive reads the ORIGINAL 2005/2006 no problem after cleaning it ! I recently bought the West Europe 2010 MAP DVD copy and the UPDATE DVD v4.40 to allow me to run the new MAP DVD. I managed to get the unit to read the UPDATE DVD-R and successfully updated the unit but it will not see any other MAP media that i try. I placed the ORIGINAL DVD back in and no problems !! I tried cleaning the lense with a professional DVD lense cleaner but still no joy. My DVD ROM unit part number is 4M5T-10E887-AE and the date is 26/09/2005 . I have also downloaded the DVD and Update from rapidshare etc and burned them to VERBATIM discs at 1x speed (2.4) using ImgBurn and the correct settings are set to BOOKTYPE and DVD ROM and DVD+R DL etc etc. I have just recently found out that the DVD MAP must NOT have the file LOADING.KWI on the disc , so i am in the process of downloading the files again to try. In the meantime , can anyone tell me which JAGUAR ORIGINAL MAP DVD works in the FORD DENSO system as my unit reads ORIGINAL discs no problem. I have been told that the single DVD 1X43-10E898-AM works and my friend mentioned the 2007/2008 works 1X43-10E898-AK etc. Can anyone out there with the Ford Denso system who is running an upto date Jag Disc please let me know the Jag part number and the Denso part number so i can buy one off Fleabay. The Ford DVD are far too expensive even on fleabay ! The Jaguar dvd map Discs are very reasonably priced cheers Steve .

Hi,

You need the mapping disc for the previous version XJ or X-Type. There are two options and I enclose links for both:

Western Europe Only - This is provided on a single dual layer DVD
Western & Eastern Europe - This is provided on two discs. A dual layer disc for western europe (as per above) and a single layer eastern europe DVD.

If you are trying to source these discs on Ebay, please be careful as quite a few sellers are now supplying the latest system discs for the XF, XK and new XJ. These come as a 3 or 4 disc pack and all discs are dual layer as there is much more country specific POI data. These discs will NOT work with the Denso system.

EDITED
As a final note, if you are going to buy an original Jag mapping disc, then I would hold off for a month or so as the website is currently selling last years discs and they "should" be stocking the new 2010/2011 discs soon. Might be worth holding off.

A lot of the rapidshare files are fake also instructions are also incorrect. The 2007 firmware update disc will allow you to update to the latest DVD-NAY disc, you also burn the update firmware disc to a CDRW Verbatim it takes upto 15mins to update the firmware then you can read the later DVD nav disc I use the 2008-2009 disc with no problems. I also have the firmware and instructions available.
pm me if I can help.

Hello there and thanks for your quick reply but i have upgraded the firmware to the 4.40 which was on a DVD-R as my unit will not read certain media like cd-r or cd-rw etc etc. I bought the update DVD and the euro Map 2010 from mynavishop for 42 euro and still wont read the map dvd which has been burned onto a VERBATIM Dual Layer . MY BIGGEST problem is my DVD ROM unit in the boot ,the lense must be tempremental and so i need to buy an ORIGINAL dvd to get the unit to read it ! FORD DVD map discs are far too expensive so i just need to find out which JAGUAR ORIGINAL 2010 DVD MAP would work in my unit?????? I need someone to supply me with the part number for Jag and the Part number for DENSO on the discs so i can search on Fleabay to buy an Original at half the price of FORD MAP DVD ok thanks Steve .

The Jag part number for the 2008-2009 disc is 1x43-10e898-AM so I am thinking that the 2009-2010 disc is 1x43-10e898-AN. If buying from ebay, be warned of dodgy copies and also where 3 or 4 disc packs are being sold as this will be for the XF, new XK and XJ. If you see one and are unsure, then PM me the link and I will check it out for you.

You have the same sat nav as I do if you follow these instructions it will work as it has done for others have you checked the upgrade worked use this link http://fordwiki.co.u...gnostics_PART_1 also read this old thread http://talkford.com/...system/#1926046
This was the instructions I was given this guy tried 10 different methods to get this to work I and others have used it and it works following his instructions. as I and another poster have already said there are a lot of fakes out there my firmware works the guy used the genuine stuff from ford he works for them i say no more.
1.For 100% succes it's very important to use IMGBURN I used Nero.

2.use only VERBATIM

3.VERBATIM 8x DVD+R DL for the DVD maps

4.VERBATIM CD-RW for the system update

5.Lowest speed = best result

if you think my help is no good tell me and I will ignore furtherpost

Hi Kelvin , thanks very much for your reply and i did manage to update my unit s/w as it was dated 13/12/2004 and now it is showing 28/03/2006 when i placed the update disc into the DVD ROM drive it started automatically . Firstly it showed the old and new firmware on the screen and then it showed a YELLOW progress bar on the bottom indicating it was reading the data from the Disc . It then switched to another screen with a WHITE background saying it was about to install the new firmware 4.40 DO NOT turn of the ignition during this progress. . There was a BLUE progress bar showing the files were being written to the unit ! It finished and then rebooted to the BLUE FORD Start up screen ! That meant that it had updated the s/w firmware successfully ! I then followed these instructions to burn my Discs using ImgBurn :-
Just add your image file (browse for the file at the "Source field" in Imgburn). Then choose the WRITER burner at the "destination field"
(ie Plextor it?s the standard option if you only have one burner). SET TO 1X WRITE SPEED

Press "Tools" up in the menu > "Drive" > "Change book type.." > SAMSUNG > change for: "Drive (For DVD+R DL Media) > New Setting:
DVD-ROM > press "Change" (Success!" press ok) > Press OK.Then Burn!

(VERBATIM DVD+R DL recommended !) ARITA AND PHILIPS May work !
My unit comes up with the dreaded message everytime i try different media "The Disk inserted is not a MAP dvd"
I then decided to buy a set of Discs for the WEST EUROPE 2010 from mynavishop to prove if it was my discs or drive which is at fault ! As mentioned , the update 4.40 worked and that was burnt onto a DVD-R so my Lense liked that disc ! I then put the 2010 MAP dvd in and the dreaded message showed again . This has lead me to believe i have a tempremental lense in the DVD ROM drive or a DODGY MAP Disc ?? A friend of mine has burned a copy of his working disc and has posted it off to me today ! I should hopefully get it tomorrow or Wednesday and i will keep you posted as to what happens ok ! Thanks once again for all your help and input on this situation . Cheers Steve .
P.S. my Dual burner is the TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S202J ATA upgraded firmware to SB03 from 02 ! (SAMSUNG)

I,m sure mine shows the firmware dated as 2007 and as far as I know after the 2005 nav disc you need to use the 2007 firmware to update the maps. I do know mine are a set and the NAV DVD 2008-2009 which I believe is the latest.
The unit is very temperamental and situated in a stupid place in the boot I insulated mine with polystyrene last winter as it would not read the disc, also the connections in the boot can get dirty or loose, it might pay to disconnect the unit and check the wire connectors It may cure the bad reading since I did mine it has been fine.
On a lighter note I use a Plextor dvd writer its the only one to last more than a year and a bit, its now 3years old I burn a lot of discs I burned mine at 2x using Linux with Nero I only use verbatim and Linux.

I think we can safely agree that your firmware update was successful so your problem is either with the disc or your drive. If it is an early model then it might struggle with the DVD+DL. You could try burning a disc without changing the book type but I think this may fail too. I know it can be down to the type of burner you are using as I have three and only one has ever worked. (Sony DRU-810 - obsolete now I think). Hope you manage to get this sorted.

Hi Kelvin , when you get a chance can you look at the part number on your DVD ROM drive and what the s/w firmware that shows on the diagnostics of the head unit to confirm your thoughts ! I have downloaded three different update cd from different sites and they all have the 3 files on them :- dates are 2001 2006 and 2005 for the 080.bmx and the loading.kwi and the M_FLASH etc .Thanks steve
