Hi, first post in this fiesta section. Might be a long one but please bear with me as I explain...

My step daughter has a mk5 fiesta LX and the original headunit started playing up, so for Christmas we bought her a new HU and some speakers for the rear as it currently only has front door speakers.
I fitted the HU temporarily on xmas day as I presumed i'd need to run speaker cable to the back, I couldnt see any plugs anywhere in the boot. But when I had the original HU out I noticed a full compliment of speaker wires into the stereo connector which then go off into the loom, where are they likely to be going? Obvioulsy the front ones go off into the doors but where are the ones for the rear likely to terminate? Any connectors behind the dash or along the sills?

Any info will be good as it saves me having to search too much for them

Thanks

3dr or 5dr?

5dr in the rear doors

3dr, don't they normally have speakers in the sides where the rear passengers sit? That would be about the lot, there would be nothing for the parcel shelf as speakers are never fitted there as factory.

It's a 5 door

Can't say I noticed any speakers in the rear doors, there's certainly nonsound when you fade the speakers to rear.
I thought the speaker set up wouldve been the same as her mk4 where the rear speakers are either side of the parcel shelf as there are the holes etc to screw them to?

Is it a case of they wouldve put the speaker wires into the rear doors but not any speakers as it's only an LX?
It also has the wiring for front fog light switch but no fog lights.

Ford and their wiring looms never make sense. We've found over the years that generally there is neither rhyme nor reason as to what looms are fitted to what cars. Mondeos for example, some have looms for footwell lights, some don't. It doesn't matter what model of car it is.

The only way of checking will be to take a look really.

Just had a quick look in her car and there are no grills or anything like in the front doors to indicate that speakers might go in the door.

After a bit of searching on google this seems to be a regular occurrence with the mk4/5 fiestas. I'm going to have to get my finger out and check where they go.
Why is there never a nice easy solution? Lol

On a 5 door there is no speaker fitting. It is in the rear either side of the parcel shelf. My mk4 s reg had the wiring behing the dash dissapearing into the loom but i never did find where the other end was. I looked under the carpet in the boot, Gehind the arch carpets, under the seats , under the main carpet in the car, Under the sill plates then gave up as i wasnt really bothered. Someone on another site suggested recently that ford send the wiring up the A pillar along the roof and down either the B pillar or the C pillar. Dont know which side or maybe both, Its the only place i didnt check :-)
