Mk5 Speaker wiring
Posted 13 February 2011 - 05:05 PM
My step daughter has a mk5 fiesta LX and the original headunit started playing up, so for Christmas we bought her a new HU and some speakers for the rear as it currently only has front door speakers.
I fitted the HU temporarily on xmas day as I presumed i'd need to run speaker cable to the back, I couldnt see any plugs anywhere in the boot. But when I had the original HU out I noticed a full compliment of speaker wires into the stereo connector which then go off into the loom, where are they likely to be going? Obvioulsy the front ones go off into the doors but where are the ones for the rear likely to terminate? Any connectors behind the dash or along the sills?
Any info will be good as it saves me having to search too much for them

5dr in the rear doors
3dr, don't they normally have speakers in the sides where the rear passengers sit? That would be about the lot, there would be nothing for the parcel shelf as speakers are never fitted there as factory.

Can't say I noticed any speakers in the rear doors, there's certainly nonsound when you fade the speakers to rear.
I thought the speaker set up wouldve been the same as her mk4 where the rear speakers are either side of the parcel shelf as there are the holes etc to screw them to?
Is it a case of they wouldve put the speaker wires into the rear doors but not any speakers as it's only an LX?
It also has the wiring for front fog light switch but no fog lights.

The only way of checking will be to take a look really.
