28/04/2011 my timming chain has broke on my 2008
can any1 tell me how the timming chain can brake evan when iv just got the timming belt done 12km ago (2and a half months ago)althow there is 213000km it is serviced every 20000km surly they should have notice that the timming chain has worn i just dont under stand and now they want 6000euro for a new engine what can i do please help

wouldnt of thought thay was any with a 2008 now .. normaly 3 years on the engine

but Timing chain snap is very strange all most not known at all

sorry m8 but i think you have no option but to drop another engine in there

May be depends on the condition ... its a good thing to do at same time stop u having two repair bill later on

What engine are we talking about? Chain or belt? Your post says both!

A belt snapping is common enough, but as above, a chain snapping is very rare. A belt snapping at just 7.5K miles would suggest it either wasn't fitted right or was of sub-standard quality... assuming it was the belt that failed and not a pully, have you ever had them changed or just belts?

hiya its a 1.8l 125 psi bought from brand new and seviced every time they say
i was talkin to ford ireland and they told me the garage are ment to change the timming chain every 2000000 k

they are paying for the lot now becouse they forgot to change the timming belt love it
