The foam inner skin is a common failure point and as the water runs down the inside of the door ( it is permissible for water to be inside the actual door as it is not designed to be 100% watertight) the foam should keep it back but if not it gets to the backside of the inner door card and runs down and out the bottom between the plastic door card and the metal door and then onto the door frame rubber just the wrong side and it goes down onto the carpets!
