These were the 17inch option, I understand.  Problem is that the 21mm studs are so wide in the wheel that a socket doesn't get in far enough to make for a decent grip.  Result is rounded studs and big problems getting them out.

I know that a 19mm stud of the right profile exists, because my local garage managed to dig one out, but nobody knows were it came from.

Any ideas where I might source 19mm studs fro the st170?

Many thanks

I have st170 alloys, fitted onto my mk2 mondeo (with 6mm spacers) using the 12 standard ford alloy nuts and 4 mcgard lockers holding the old alloys on.
Mondeo offset is 35-42, and st170's 49. (The 6mm stufs take the offset to 43 but 1mm off is closer than 7mm... lol

No new studs fitted, but i don't think i'd be keen on adding any more spacer thickness without a longer stud.

The standard focus st170 wheelnuts are the same as the mondeo ones. These are ford part #1366432

Theoretically the cougar should be exactly the same as my mondeo.

This is Ford country, listen quietly and you can hear Vauxhalls rusting :)
Ever noticed that putting "anal" in front of some ford model names makes them sound funny? Fiesta, Probe, Ranger. Explorer, Maverick etc... lol

I fitted ST200 alloys to my first Cougar using standard Ford 19mm wheel nuts with the captive collars like these:

The wheel studs on the Cougar are the same as on the Mondeo it's only the nuts that differ being 21mm rather than 19mm.

Standard Cougar alloys have an ET of 46 and the ST200 alloys went on without the need for spacers with 215/45 17 tyres. They have a flattened section towards the top of the rear struts to give a bit of extra clearance for the tyres.
