Hi everyone, i'm new to your forum.
Sorry to ask this but where is the thermostat located on a Mondeo 2001 TDDI ? I've had a quick look under the bonnet and thought it may be on the right hand side ( as you look at the engine)
Need to replace the thermostat as its stuck closed.

Thanks you
Regards
Stuart

Hi everyone,
As mentioned previously i thought my thermostat was faulty, this has been replaced to no avail...

symptoms i have are as follows....
when car ticking over on my drive temp gauge needle is straight up ( half way mark) but cooling fans are on too, heater is blowing cold air even when set to high, this was happening before i replaced the thermostat, though it has blown warm air recently, only appears to have happened since i've had this overheating problem. If i drive the car the temp needle goes into the red, but if i switch the engine off and put igition on so i can watch the temp needle it goes back to half way very quickly , which means i can restart engine again and drive another couple of hundred yards before the temp needle shows in the red again, but will quite happily stay at the half way point if i dont drive it.

Any ideas as to what may be causing this ?
could it be the temp sensor ?

Thanks in advance

regards

Stuart

I would say your water pump has had it.

I've never done one on a mondeo but it doesn't look too hard a job but could be wrong.

Thanks for your help swordtail, just had the car checked at the local garage and they have said its the water pump as the waters not circulating properly, seems theres no pressure in the water hose by the pump.

Thank you
