Can anyone help me with tracking down me key No (T Number ?). Bought a 2003 Mondeo Ghia Estate. The car only came with one key. I was at my local dealer today, who say they are unable to supply the key number nor are they able to read the key to obtain the No. I also e-mailed Ford, still waiting for a reply.
Dealer wanted £150 to supply and code a new key.
I see plenty of keys and remotes on Ebay, but I am informed that because I only have one key the whole system needs to be re-coded.
Any help would be much appreciated. :tonofbricks:
I should add that this is a Mk3 face lift model

Thanks, but I have been told that because I only have one existing key, the new one wont start the car because it wont work the immobilizer. Dont know if this makes sense or not. I am starting to get a bit confused over the whole issue.

As you only have one working key you won't be able to programme a new one to start the car yourself, but a good auto locksmith will have no problem cutting a new key and coding it to the ECU/immobiliser for you. It doesn't have to be done by Ford.

We clone for £55, which is cheapest way when only one key is available, but we can also programe a key into the car which is what the dealer does.
