Hello, Sorry to ask questions about a Kuga, but I hope you may be able to help.
I've just got a 2009 Kuga with the Blaupunkt DVD Sat Nav, voice control & reverse camera and have the following questions:
1, Should it have bluetooth as I can't get the menu up on it it just mutes the radio when I press the phone button.
2, I've pressed the navigation menu buttons together but couldn't see if it had the 5.1 software update (lots of other stuff but couldn't see the firmware level)
3, Is there a way of making the sat nav dim when you put the lights on?

Thanks in advance
Paul

Ok I have some answers for you:

1. It sounds as if you dont have the bluetooth installed. I know earlier Mondeo's didnt have bluetooth as standard and that the DVD system does this if its not installed.
2. Download the 5.1 off this site and try to install it. If you dont need it, it wont install. Someone else can tell you what to look for on the screen. I have the 5.1 update but wouldnt know what version numbers to look for.
3. On my Mondeo, when the lights go on the Nat goes to night mode. (this is seclected from the menu options on display I think). The only way to dim any further is to manually do this via the dim button which on my mondeo is below the light switch. At night I always turn it down due to it being to bright on the motorway however during the day if the lights are on I always have it at the higer setting.

Hope this helps in some way.

Thanks for the quick reply Kop.
Is it easy to fit the bluetooth module? Also is it easy to remove the head unit?
Cheers Paul

Hi Paul
re the autodimming side, try setting the brightness to auto so when you've got the lights on, the display auto dims.
To find out the version of software, have a look at some of the other posts under the mondeo mk4, ice sections but if you press menu and nav at the same time, then it will ask for the radio code and then allow you to view the software versions, eject the dvd etc
Have fun and hope this helps
Bob

Thanks for the reply Bob. I have tried setting the night time setting to dim and the switching to auto but this doesn't seem to work.

Is it easy to remove the head unit? There only seems to be only 2 slots at the top and these are narrower than on the old type of head unit.
Cheers
Paul

hi Paul
I must admit that i have resisted this... so far, but i would be surprised if there isn't a matching set below the controls.
Pls keep us posted
Bob

Hi Bob, you are right there are 2 more at the bottom and they just flick out (they are the 2 without any symbols on). I put my 4 tools in but still can't get it out, I think there must be something else holding it!
Cheers Paul
