mk4 diesel fuel consumption

I assume that manufactures tests are `tweaked` for the best results & take place on a rolling road.If so does the rolling road software take in to account wind resistance?In my college days I think it increased with the square of the speed over 40mph.

I've had 4 wheel alignment done and 2 new front tyres and its up to 45 mpg now , so its getting there!
