look into tubular headers and a remap.

i dont know if there are any better inlet manifolds available for it. measure the TB, if its less than 60-65mm look into getting a bigger one.

once you get past the flow limit of the injectors, i heard that some type of (bigger) vauxhall injectors fit, but i dont know what type.

I will start messing around with it soon enough.
I took it Race bitz n had it remapped first thin.
It worked.
I will hopefully put a manual box in it and uprated springs soon.
Its a real comfy car.
I like the idea of owning a Bob engine.
After i get the other car fitted with NOS .I might just NOS the Scorpio on big Jets as i beleive the engines can take alot of BHP.
Not this year though.

Dont make my mistake of having 2 cars with extreme mods, they tend to break at the same time. You certainly dont want 2 cars with NOS, it is a pita.

Manual conversions can be quite involved, i know its a big job on a mondeo , usually not feasible unless the car is worth a few grand

Yep the second car is cool to have around.
Especially when i have a spray service that likes my first car more than me.
My first car is still in spray.
Its been flatted n is waiting polishing.
It could just go n be sold or if i am keeping it will be modded.
I like the Scorpio though.
I do want to mod the exhaust n blank the egr ect.
The manual would start happening if the Mondeo finished its path and i needed a car to pass the time.
I put 18" wheels ,smoked side lenses on with ford wheel centres on it and it looks real cool.
I like the idea its a Cosworth and want it to hang around my house.
it suits my home set up.

O n whats a redneck,i no what a chav is but not sure about this new one.
Excuse my lack of street knowledge but i havn't had time in years ,to have my ear to the ground ,man.

Robbo, when i comes to mods on the BOB engine there isnt a lot about. My estate had a custom exhaust which comprised of a single 'sports' cat & 2 silencer box's at the rear. After a fiddle with injector sizes & a remap to make it all work it was knocking at the door of 245 bhp. If it,s acceleration your after get yourself a 4:27 diff & vss unit from a 2.0 ltr 16v scorpio ( auto box ). You will need to swap over the cossie mounting plate & output flanges as the 2.0 ltr diff mounts differently & has much smaller flanges, but is worth every penny / effort. You will be eating Porsche boxters off the lights with it ( seriously ) :) . It is important to have the 2.0ltr vss as well if you want your speedo to read correctly. The only down side of the diff mod is your fuel economy will be down to about 20 mpg on a run & i only ever averaged about 11 mpg around town :o ( that said i went everywhere flat out ) ;) :} . The new gearing will limit your top speed to around 130 mph, but anymore than that & your just being greedy. If it's top speed your after you can have the limiter removed from your gearbox. Without this the car wont rev past 4800 in top gear. With the limiter removed the engine can be allowed to rev to 6200 rpm which when mine was on the rollers was showing a road speed pf 152 mph :D :D :D . Of course you would never do that on the road :whistling: . If you need any advice on the BOB engine, or Scorpio's in general just give me a shout m8. I've had 13 of them & what i dont know , the scorpio specialist down the road from me will. Cheers bub... Craig :)

Hi Rob. The 2.3 diff isnt that far away from the cossie one, so wont make that much of a differance. To do a manual conversion you will need.....
1 x Scorp diesel gearbox
xr 4x4 ( mt 75 ) bellhousing
Scorpio manual pedal box
Make a circuit board to fool the ecu into thinking the car is in park
Escort cosworth clutch.
The rear diff on the cossie is a 7" NON lsd :( . Only the Granada's came with lsd & sadly there not interchangable
Have you signed up with fordscorpio.co.uk ?. There is a young chap on there called Matt ( Upper cased M & the rest in lower case ). He is young lad that lives down the road from me & considered by many ( including myself ) to be an authority on all things scorpio. He is currently building a 4.0ltr BOB engine to go into his already manual converted scorpio. Definatly worth signing up & having a word ( he's a nice lad ).
For me i prefered the auto box ( because im bone idle ) & you can pick up second hand auto box,s really cheap compared to manual ones. Try & find a 4:27 diff. You really wont be dissapointed. There are a couple of 2.0ltr's breaking on ebay at the moment, but make sure you get a diff from a 16 v car as the 8v's ran a 4 : 08 which is waaaayyyyy to low. Depending on what Ford fancied fitting on the day you will most probably have a 3:91 fitted to the cossie which incidently was fitted to the 12v V6 as well.
Sighn up with that website Rob. You will be amazed at the amount of info on there. Cheers bud... Craig :)

Forgot to mention the restrictor to the gearbox is electronically stored in the ECU & will have to be removed / altered by a programme. The standard setting ( in sport mode ) will not allow the engine to rev above 4800 in top gear. Some of the early ones didnt have this function & can rev all the way to 6000 rpm in top ( which is why they are so damm fast ). My estate was ex MOD & was already like this when i got it. The restrictor was picked up by a ford tech guy who was running diagnostics on the car for a cold start problem. If you do decide to check if the motor revs to 6000 rpm in top pick your road carefully. Im sure i dont have to tell you how fast these things can go :whistling: ;) :} :} :}

Right will get on with the diff first,as i say i need a lsd diff for the cossie so this should be a good option to go.

I doubt you will find an LSD to fit. The Granadas & Scorpios were a bus ride apart when it comes to fitments.Tthe 16 valve Scorpio diff wont be an LSD sadly. With an autobox i doubt you will feel the benifit with one anyway as the t/c is quite quick to cut in on the cossie & believe me with a 4;27 fitted you wont want to turn it off too often. I have given Matt from the scorpio site a shout & told him to keep an eye out for you. Shot myself in the foot by calling him though. I've been roped into helping him re furb the heads on his Scorpio TD. Oh well at least he has a big kettle :kaffeetrinker_2: . Cheers... Craig :)

[i went on the scorpio site.Is there any chance you can get him on here.
He would love it compared to the scorpio site.
I could ask him loads of questions as the weekends went on.
O yes this is a good question.
The cosworth bosh 803 green injectors are the ones i need for the sierra i have.
They look very simular to the cosworth scorpio 24v ultima injectors.
Are they the same as the prices differ alot.

LOL, no worries m8, i'll ask him to sign up on here ( if i can drag him off Fordpower.com ). The Scorp site is a little straight laced i know, but has thousands of technical pages & some really knowlegable blokes on there. As for the injectors ????? Not a clue m8. I had bigger injectors in my green saloon, but didnt ask what type / size. I only cried when the fuel gauge dropped like a stone. Im sure the stock injectors can handle up to 250 hp before they run out of puff, so unless your planning a super charger mod you should be ok ( bloody good idea though ) :} . cheers bud... Craig :)

Can talkFord admin register this a a significant event.
We have a Scorpio Boa /Bob engine wizard on board.
If he has turboed one ,this info can be moved over to the duratec 3.0.

Welcome to talk Ford Mat 24v.
I hope your stay with us is enjoyable and there is a free bar at all times.

Welcome Matt.

Beware of the zetec engine crew ,they think the V6 engine is heavy and no body can tune them.

I on the other hand am going to tune my Duratec and enjoy the v6 power.
I am practising with a scorpio,cosworth and a v6 mondeo.
One day hopefully with some of your help will succeed.

have you ever turboed a Boa/bob.

Welcome again
