Hi guys, need a little advice. I can get my hands on the following:

Primary Features
Build Date: 13.03.1996
Vehicle Line: Scorpio 95
Body Style: 4 Door Estate
Version: H Series
Engine: DOHC 2.0 EFI (136PS)
Transmission: A4LD (E)
Drive: RHD RWD
Axle Ratio: 4.27
Emission: EEC 96 Car (EEC 1)
Air Conditioning: Automatic Air Conditioning
Territory: (+)"GB"
Paint: Nouveau Red
Interior Colour: Raven Interior
Interior Fabric: Leather

no tax or MOT been sitting under a cover at my brothers house. Its just too much for him. should pass MOT, went and started it today which was the first time in 6 months (had to jump it) but fired on first turn. now would it be worth selling it as a whole car or breaking it?

thanks Oddy

Hi oddball. I have had quite a few scorpio's over the years & have to say unless it's a facelift version ( which it wont be on a 96 reg ) then im afraid you would get very little for it if you deside to break it ( although the engine is quite a rarety & the diff usually fetches a few quid ). Resale values are usually way below what they aught to be for such a fine car ( probably due to the legacy of poor electrics & unusual looks ). You say it will probably pass the MOT, so why not keep it & enjoy being wafted around in style. I know they wont set the world alight but you will be amazed at how comfy they are...& this is coming from a guy who has owned a 7 series & a couple of xj6's. What ever you decide to do best of luck m8. Cheers... Craig :)

Most valuable part on that car is the diff im afraid to say mate, stick a picture of it up, and any info and i'll post it over on the scorpio owners site, but like craig says id drive it around, the 2.0 aint to bad on fuel, and far comfier then a mondeo

price wise for selling really depends on condition and mileage but dont expect any where near £1000, not even some mint cars go for that

If it's a 4;27 diff then 24v cossie owners will want it  proven to knock 2 seconds off your 0-60 time :D :D :D . If you fit the 2.0ltr VSS as well your speedo will be more accurate . The 2.0ltr intake system is quite popular with the 2.3 owners as well, as 2.3's have plastic manifolds which crack & split. Plus the fact the 2.0ltr intake has twin inlets as apposed to the 2.3's single. Pity it's not a manual box as i might of been intrested, but sadly auto's are too thirsty for me. If it were up to me, i would give it a good clean & tackle any bubbly arches ( which it's bound to have ) , whack a fresh ticket on it & advetise it for £695ono. It's an awful amount of car for the money . Best of luck chap... Craig :)

Is it a MK3 Granada Scorpio or a MK4 Scorpio (the frog eyed one and lost the Granada name)? The build date suggests the frog eyed MK4 but the info you put up also says RWD. I may be wrong as I've never owned a MK4 but I thought they were all FWD??? If it is a MK3 it will be really rare with that build date and that would push the price up. The Mk3 production ended in 1994 when the MK4 started, but there's always a bit of an overlap with Ford's while the use up all the parts. I've seen a couple of MK3's built in 1995 but never one in 1996.
