Changed fuel filter on tdci now wont start

hi all help needed asap i changed the fuel filter on my mates 1.8 focus tdci 55 reg an filled the filter back up with fresh fuel turned the key a few times to try and pump the fuel through a bit then tried starting it it turned over for about 3 seconds now it wont start up please help as m mates not impressed hes stuck without his car

Check your hoses are connected the right way. then turning ignition to position 2 (you should here the fuel pump working), 5 times for 30 seconds with 1 min gap in between to get the pressure up, and then try and start it, may take more than 30 sec to start.

i had same problem and ended up taking to garage near where i work,
he used a device that sucked up the fuel to the filter then pushed fuel to engine,
cracked open injectors and away it went.
what a nightmare and i will leave it for him to do next time,
