Have a o/s rear wheel squeak. brake line was recently replaced going to it......no grinding noises just what sounds like a high pitched metal to metal squeak when driving! Brakes has recently been replaced by a garage with aim to sort sqeak out .....any ideas! The other rear wheel did have a bearing replaced early this year but had the usual grinding noise which is different to this high pitched one.

you had wheel off and checked for correct fitment of pads/shoes/securing clips and if got drums on back is the self adjuster 'bar' free to do what it likes and reset? (see haynes manual for disassembly/assembly instructions. sometimes if stripping down it helps to mark where springs etc came from, and even better, snap a picture with your phone/camera. (saves taking other side off to have a look if you forget where bits came from.
