Hi Guys, im going to be fitting a 12S (Grey) Socket and Split Relay to charge my caravan battery and run my fridge. Does anyone know how difficult it is to wire up

The main things I need to know what wires are hard wired to the car and also what wires are connected tot he split relay.

Any diagrams would be a big help. Or can anyone point me in the right direction to any links

Thanks in advance

Get a smart relay, Cuts power automatically if the voltage is too low. No need to mess.

One heavy duty wire from the battery directly to the rear socket with an inline fuse. Earth and sorted. Well almost.

No the smart relay detects the battery voltage and switches the power on and off automatically.

A much easier option compared to the old system where you need a relay switched from the ignition. You had to be careful
on that sometimes, If the car battery was low it could try and draw power from the caravan battery.

power feed off the battery via fuse to smart relay in. feed out to 12 s socket or 13 pin for the fridge and battery system. ensure that you have a good earth for the smart relay.

Assume you are only interested in the Mondeo?  Understand on the later cars (and certainly the S-Max)  the wiring has to be recognised by the ECU computer brain or it chucks it out? - looks like a trip to the Ford Dealer? :tonofbricks:

Dont know if its the same on the Mondeo
