According to the first post one of the things that is a fail is the electronic seat adjustment motor. On my car MK3 Mondeo ive got the electric height adjuster on mine which when pressed you can hear the motor but the seat doesnt work. So looks like my car will fail at least on that. Not looking forward to my MOT which is around begining of May

Just spoke to my local MOT centre and they have told me that in relation to the electronic seat adjustment motor its only the forward and backward motion of the seat, not the height adjustment. So mine will be ok

It's still a pathetic thing to be included in the MOT, in my opinion :backthen:

Why?

The car should be safe for any normally sized person to drive. If they can't adjust the seat to enable them to reach the pedals and/or steering wheel comfortably, then it isn't safe.

I'm surprised that manual seat adjustments don't also have to be checked - they should be, IMO.

Both manual and electric seat adjustments are tested, to the same extent:
"Check that the driver’s seat position can be adjusted forwards and backwards and secured in the selected positions."

Interesting. I was using This which it appears isn't as complete as yours (or is more out of date).

I'll add the above one to my bookmarks :)
