Well, the 16th of November 2011 was the promised reveal date for the new Ford Escape, and as this is now a global design, will replace the existing Kuga sometime after the summer of 2012.

It looks well executed as a design, not such a radical departure for the European market which has got used to seeing the Kuga on the road for more than 40 months, but is a major change of style for the US market. I hope that it does well there and confirms what a good concept the first Kuga was. I would have preferred to see some of the more radical aspects of the Vertrek concept in the new shape, but I hope the new toys and gizmos in the new model will make up for that. Not too sure about the tailgate, seems like a lot of styling cues there from the S-Max/Focus rear. At least it's nowhere near as bad as the butt ugly rear end of the Grand C-Max!

Does look like a nice car, although the UK version will be shown in March next year. Hopefully nothing will change!
