Hi, All.
I know this topic has been aired before but I would appreciate a little help.
I have a Ebberspacher D5WZ It came from a 2010 Transit, it was fitted in the rear.
I am trying to wire it in but got stuck! There is a socket on the heater with 5 wires going from the heater to the socket.
The colours of the wires are Red, Brown, Black, Blue and Blue and white.
There is a plug in the socket with 5 corresponding wires coming out which have been chopped.
I presume that these are the Ford side of the socket.
The wire colours coming from the plug are red, black, blue &white, green & red, purple &white.
Can anybody advise me what goes where with the wires.
I just want a simple on/ off switch with a thermostat.
Thanks, Brian,

Thank you for the link.

Just looked and it does show that the red and brown are the battery wires.
It also shows the other 3 wires from the plug ending with A, B, C.
If you look at the legend it shows:-

a) Diagnosis
B)+15 Sorry I don`t know where the smiley came from it should be "b" !!
Option: a temperature switch and / or an
ON / OFF switch can be fitted in this line
c) D+ dynamo.

A, is self-explanatory.
Does B go to the positive side of the battery (fuse) to trigger the heater?
What does C do?.

Regards, Brian

think "B" is for a timer or switch. Ebb.... do one and apparently its quite expensive. http://thenorfolkbro...php?f=68&t=8672

A, is self-explanatory.
Does B go to the positive side of the battery (fuse) to trigger the heater?
What does C do?.
B is used to turn on or off the heater. Connect to an on/off switch and thermostat. Because it has a constant + and - the built in controller will purge the burner on start up and will allow it to run on after switch off to cool the components in the heater.
C (yellow) is used when the heater is used to preheat the cooling system of the engine. When the engine is started it turns off the heater. Whilst the dynamo (altenator) is stationary the yellow wire enjoys a negative connection as soon as the engine starts it becomes positive therefore + to + does not complete a circuit and the heater shuts down. .However the wiring diagram posted earlier relates to an engine preheat installation on a Mercedes sprinter. We have units that have been removed from Ford Transit Cab heat installation so the wiring is different. What we need is a wiring diagram for the transit.
The multiplug wires on mine are as follows Eberspacher to Ford
RED --- RED BROWN-BLACK BLACK-WHITE/BROWN BLUE-BLUE/WHITE BLACK-GREEN/RED

Correction to previous post
RED -------- RED Permanant + (25A fuse)
BROWN-----BLACK Permanent -
BLUE/WHITE------WHITE/BROWN diagnosis
BLUE--------BLUE/WHITE terminal 15 (probably a connection in a fuse box activated by a switch)
BLACK/RED------GREEN/RED ?????? Unused in the diagram on the sprinter
I would have expected the water circulation pump to be incorporated into the system but no mention of it in the diagram except to say its a MB part.
Any help would be appreciated
