Hi

Just had to sell my lovely van (Vivaro) & got a Escort Van 1.8d (non turbo) its done a few miles(160K) but looks good with a set of pepper pot alloys,

My Questions are,

1) I had to replace the battery and now the air bag light is flashing any ideas why ?

2) When idling the steering wheel vibrates (shakes) ?

3) the blowers dont work, they sometimes make a horrible noise then stop ( so the fuse, switches & connections are ok) how do i locate the blower motor

Appreciate Any Help

Thanks Marty

2 - Knackered engine mount or something similar? Wouldn't surprise me with 160k on the clock

3 - Knackered motor? The blower box will either be behind the dash (try removing the glovebox for a closer look), or may be in the engine bay, underneath the scuttle panel?

Cheers nick found the motor in the engine bay under the scuttle panel, remove the resistor unit and could see the fan itself, it seem that the central spindle of the fan blade is loose so ill have to repair or renew the motor.

But How do i remove the motor from the housing or how do i remove the housing

Thanks
Marty

airbag flashes, was this 4 flashes followed by a break, then 4 flashes, break.....

might be yellow connector under seats. leave the keys out the ignition and keep them out for at least 20 mins before doing this,
