Hi all,

On my 2004 (04) C-max (1.8 Duratec engine), after getting some intermittent engine coughs and power loss I changed the spark plugs today.
I was a bit concerned when 3 of the 4 came out oily...

I take it this is a problem and needs rectifying? Can anyone advise what's the cause please?

Thanks!

Hi, I was concerned about my Fusion 1.4 with regards to oily spark plugs and slight usage of oil. They looked similar condition to yours. The electrodes look pretty worn on these plugs, but they dont look too oily / black. I believe that they can be a bit oily and it is not a big issue. If the electrodes and black and caked in carbon then there is a bigger problem. I take it the new plugs fixed the issue of poor running. How many miles had it done on the plugs? Hope this helps.
