Hi all,

This might be a very simple one, but I noticed today that the drivers side window has excessive movement when done up. Is this due to the design (no frame) or is something likely to be loose? I noticed as the door was open and I put my hand ontop of the window...
How difficult is it to remove the doorcards and check?

Thanks

does the window move excessively if its half way down and you grab it at the top and try to pull it upwards? (dont pull really hard, just check if it offers much resistance)

door card off is easy, you'll need to remove mirror cover, (screw behind the little blank) pull shut handle (screw behind the little blank), the surround for the door opening handle, and all the screws that are around the outside of the door, then the screw(s) on the door pocket (behind the blank). once everything's off, pull the bottom of the door card outwards to clear anything left on the door, and wiggle it upwards, til its off.
The foamy stuff underneath it that covers the door internals has adhesive (usually black) and can be cut through with a stanley knife, just try not to touch it, as it will then reseal properly, don't damage the foamy stuff, and make sure its sealed before refitting door card.

I'll check tommorrow... I did notice earlier that when it is closed and up it is firm with no movement...
I think i'll whip the doorcards off and check anyway.
I also noticed the 'light bulb failure' light on the centre console seems to stay on for 1min or so, once the cars intially turned on...again might be normal but i'm not sure!
I was thinking of joining ukcougar website, have you any experience??

    Cheers

bulb failure lights usually stay on til you press the brake pedal.

I think if not based on my test today, although i'm not sure if it detects reverse bulbs being out (recently replaced one).

I did try 'does the window move excessively if its half way down and you grab it at the top and try to pull it upwards? (dont pull really hard, just check if it offers much resistance)'
It offered a moderate amount of resistance...it wasn't loose as such.

        Cheers
