Hi All,

Just registered with the forum as I recently bought a '57' plate S-Max 2.0TDCi Titanium which I absolutely love but it has started blowing the exhaust! I've just had the car up on a trolley jack and it seems its blowing up above the front suspension somewhere in front of the cat (covered in mesh gauze type material?). I'm quote suprised at such a young age that its blowing but had noticed the rear box was a bit corroded. However, I didn't expect to find it was blowing so far forward and up close to the engine perhaps where it is less exposed to salt & spray.

Has anyone had this on their S-Max? I can't get close enough with just a trolley jack to find the exact location its blowing so it could even be round the manifold area so just wanted to check if anyone knew what it was?

Due to the poor shape of the rear box I have been considering fitting a stainless system made by Longlife - only a standard replacement not boy racer style! Interestingly enough the Ford dealer wants £400 for a full system from the cat back and the stainless would only be £349! They can also fit a twin exhaust version like the 2.2TDCi which I must admit would be rather nice :naughty: Has anyone fitted a stainless system to their S-Max by any chance or looked into it?

Andrew.

Well worth going full stainless if your current one is knackered, save money in the long run :)
