I have been looking at winter tyres for my 1.8 TDCI Focus Estate.

The car currently has 195/60 R15 fitted, but as I want to run two sets of wheels, one winter & one summer, I will have to buy another set of steel wheels anyway, so why not buy a set of 14" steel wheels.

The 185/65 R14 winter tyres appear to be a fair bit cheaper than the 195/60 R15, what do you think?

Would they be OK?

Is there any down sides to fitting the smaller tyres?

Thanks in advance.

i had this size (185 65 r14) on both previous mondys (a mk1 and 2) the one i have now has 195 60 r15's on, so i'd say go for it.
