If you read Classic Ford mag you would of done, all is not quite as what it seems with this one, based on the Cortina, it's a replica of a car that wasn’t even put into production. :L

Have a read here, should tell you all you need to know. http://passionford.c...tina-saxon.html

I'd heard of The Saxon probably about 20-25 years ago. Saw this replica last year at a Ford employee family day to celebrate 100 years of Car production in Britain. They also had the Iosis (Mk4 Mondeo Concept) a GT40's, GT's and a few other rare Ford's too. Always been partial to an RS200. Saw 3 last year at Lyden Hill two road going versions and a Pikes Peak spec. race car.

These are from Classic Ford Show 2010, a slightly modified tasty Mk3 Ford Cortina.

The first one is taken by me and the second one is borrowed from Classic Ford Magazine, taken at about the same time.

I've got a few local favourites here

Firstly, I have a real soft spot for the XY Falcon GTHO (High Output), the Phase 3 in particular. An unmodified road going version in mint condition you could easily see anywhere between 75,000 to 100,000 pounds. A genuine race-spec version could easily net you between 150,000 to 250,000 pounds. I know a guy who had one from new, but he had done a few tweaks to it and it was starting to show its age. It was also his daily driver. He ended up trading it in on an FG Falcon XR6 Turbo 50th anniversary, plus 20 grand cash, which he spent on tarting up the motor

This one is the Falcon F6 Typhoon. Out of the box it comes with a 330kw turbocharged 4 litre straight six. I've seen some examples push 1,000+ HP

And this is the F6 Territory. Its an SUV based on the Falcon platform, again equipped with the 330kw straight six. The latest Territory comes with a 2.7 TDCI taken from the last model Land Rover

There's also the F6 Tornado, which is the Falcon ute with the same motor. Get ready for some extreme slipping and sliding fun.

we don't get anything like that here prc, :( very rare these days to see anything really bigger than 3.0L, think fuel prices have about killed big motors off.

They're a dime a dozen down here. Ya need to move down here, or go commit a few crimes so they ship you off to Australia

It really isn't that much better here. Avoid the areas that shake harder than a 4.0, which is about 33% of the country, avoid Auckland because there's no work here, and avoid back country areas because you run the risk of being eaten for dinner

Wouldn't mind a Falcon XR when we get over to OZ.
Think it will be a Focus until we get sorted though.

You can get a BA Falcon XT (base model) for peanuts there, and it has the same motor as the XR6
