Hi All

I would appreciate some advice. I am looking to buy a 98 galaxy and am getting it at a reasonable price. But the owner says he has a problem that when he gets to over 2800 revs it goes into limp mode. He said to me that he thinks its the MAF senor. I was wondering if this was a common fault and if so is it an exspnsive repair. Also could it be anything else that I could check .The turbo is working

Thanks in advance.

I don't know from what you say if it is the MAF sensor, but the MAF sensor fauilure is a common fault. It's a while since I looke for prices but IIRC there were exchange units available from around £65 a couple of years back, or around £200 for new. Also IIRC replacement is a very easy job, just a few seconds to swap out old for new
