its a sump off job, and iirc crank out. sounds easy but the subframe is probably in the way too. Its probably less grief to remove the engine out the top, then operate as it isn't fun operating overhead under the car.

while its out, its a good opportunity to check or deal with the inlet manifold flaps, as you can get at the bolts

I had taken out flaps, was worn a bit, but why only cylinder 4 is floating with oil not all 4, could it be some valve worn?

Compression test wont show a sticky or worn oil control ring. Lets you know if compression is down but oil rings
wont really affect that.

You will only really tell after stripping it. See if the rings are still springy or gummed up.

Did you position and gap and position the rings properly??

Seen a few that have been fitted poorly and they wonder why it burns as much oil after replacement.

Were the old rings worn or gummed up?

Head Bolts:

Stage 1...5Nm 4lfb ft
Stage 2.....15Nm 11lbf ft
Stage 3.........45Nm 33lbf ft
Stage 4.............Angle tighten 90 degrees
Stage 5..................Angle tighten 90 degrees

You really need to fit new head bolts and the same with the con-rods saves a engine if they break that why they are called stretch bolts
