Can one of you most learned guys tell me what is the small icon that appears in the top right hand side of the radio adjacent to the digital clock readout on my recently purchased 2009 (58 plate) Titanium X. It looks a bit like a car door and it changes colour, sorry car did'nt come with the seperate audio book ??

What head unit do you have Big Tony, there could be 3 different styled units.

I'm really not sure which unit it is, has a screen that shows the Sat nav as well as the radio channel information, is blue and chrome with an SD card type slot on the left for the sat nav info, and chrome buttons down both sides. also has a slider scale on the right with a red pointer in it. The icon I question appears in light blue/grey set in a dark blue bar right at the top, it's just like a car door with it's window open and the "so called" window area goes up and down and also changes to red in colour. I must apolgise if I sound a bit of a "Thickie" here but I'm well baffled by it ?????

I don't have that particular unit so can't help, maybe ask a mod to add the name of the unit to the thread title and it might get more 'traffic' and someone with an answer.

Yes that's it on page 2 of that link shown 2nd picture down on the left (blaupunkt travelpilot FX ?), the icon in question is shown between the clock and the radio station tuned in "funradio" on the top right of the unit. It resembles more of an "SD" card. What the hell is it and what is it for ????????????

I'm begining to think this icon is something to do with the Sat NAV. So far I have noticed it totally filled in, in blue (as it is shown now), filled in, in red, also just the outline in red as well as half and quarter blue. I've had the car for 3 weeks now and it really is puzzling me what the hell it's for, anybody ????

The icon is between the clock display and the radio channel shown in the top bar.

OK - I don't have this model so I'm guessing - could the change between red and blue indicate how much memory is being used (red), or is available (blue)?

Zoomed in but can't see it properly but it looks to me like its an indicator to signify that the SD card is in, turn off the unit, take maps card out, power the unit back up, is the symbol gone?

I too have been wondering about that icon, also having had the car 3 weeks. Could it signify GPS satellite reception, as the level seems to go up and down as you drive along?
