iv de catted my st tdci and its great but a guy came to collect some bits today in the same car with a decat and as he changed gear it bade a wierd noise like a purring as the turbo spooled down or wastegate opened only difference in mine and his was he has blueflame cat back exhaust fitted
ST 220 in panther black only mods so far
oem blackeyed xenons,facelift dash with sony 6 cd, facelift screen,all chrome trims inside and out ,powerfolds facelift variable red recaro leather interior and a big fook off engine under the bonnet

its probably the exhaust that makes it do that. I presume you interrogated him for info...?

Ever noticed that putting "anal" in front of some ford model names makes them sound funny? Fiesta, Probe, Ranger. Explorer, Maverick etc... lol

Sony mp3 radio, Uv shades all round, Wind deflectors, Front Fogs, Flyeyes on taillights, Reversing camera and monitor in mirror(homemade setup £35), C-max sunglasses holder, Rear leccy windows and appropriate door cards, Led strips in footwells and boot area, full sized spare, rear courtesy roof light, led indicator strip front and indicator/sidelights and brake, puddle lights, led spot light on towbar, white led strip behind rad grill to come on with sidelights, and a few more besides

If yours is a euro 3 TDCi it wont do it. The Euro 4 (55plate onwards) ST tdci's do this when exhaust gases are alowed out of the engine faster.

This is a comon thing when you get holes in your exhaust due to corrosion. My old ST did it and it sounded great! hehe

You need a backbox with reduced baffles or delete the backbox all together and just have a straight through tailpipe.
This is mine.

Mods:- Nothing as yet. Eibach springs to start probably.

You can still get that sound on a Euro 3 engine as mine is that. Here is a video I made, the exhaust system is straight through with no cat involved, all makes for great shwooooshes and pops and bangs haha!!
