Hope someone can help me, i have recently changed my car from a w reg zetec galaxy to a 52 plate ghia galaxy, the alloys where in better condition and new tyres all round on my w reg galaxy so i put them on my 52 plate and now i have come to replace my disks and pads the front alloys do not fit on my car (see pic2) there on my car and dont fit when new pads and disks on..
Obviously they fitted when pads where low but when new ones on they dont..
i have been searching for the same style as the original ones (see pic1) everywhere, but really struggling after speaking to ford they have told me that theres four different alloy wheel styles (all pics) that fits my car one of the one was pic2 painful!!!
someone has mentioned the offset but i dont understand this...
please can someone advise me where to start.....
Kind Regards
Michael

have you tried looking into wheel spacers to make them fit?

I dont 100% follow, but using the names of your photos:
one = Galaxy Mk2 GHIA Alloys (16")
two = Mk1 alloys (15")
three = Galaxy Mk2 Ghia facelift alloys / option (16" and 17")
four = Galaxy Mk2 ZETEC alloys (15" and 16"
There is actually another two styles as well but we won't go there
The Mk1 galaxy uses 288mm discs and most Mk2's use 300mm hence the problem you are having. I don't understand how they did fit and now you have new pads they won't? - if you've fitted the larger disc but didn't fit a new calliper then it wouldn't have gone back together as the positions are different but if you have 300mm discs then the 15" Mk1 alloys would never have fitted in the first place??
Galaxy offset is 35>45, and all of your examples will in that range as they are OEM - spacers will only pull the wheel outward which would effect the offset and personally I would avoid them as the Galaxy is unbelievably fussy when it comes to balancing and you are likely to have vibrations if you fit spacers.

mirez - picture2 are mk1 16" zetec alloys which ford say will fit..
as im aware the garage i took the car too for disks and pads put 300mm disks on and pads and put the zetec alloy back on the caliper on the front was scraping on the inside of the alloy, the back alloys are all ok as the caliper is smaller on the back so there clearence between the caliper and alloy
the front capliers touch the alloy when new pads on due to the thickness of the new pads
is there a difference between thickness of the spokes on mk1 to mk2..
which alloy is recommend for my car..

Ohh its hitting the inside of the spokes? I may be being thick here but I'm still not following that, the caliper is the same thickness regardless of new pads being fitted or not - its the piston that moves to accommodate the wear in the pads so I dont get how its moved further out? Are you sure they haven't bodged something?

ive been doing homework on this found out the alloys on the car now are ET59 and this is why the calipers are scraping on the alloys as there too close
im know looking for aftermarket found some with ET38.. ive found out that the lower the number the more clearence i get...
