Hi all my mums 02 focus 1.6 petrol has developed a problem the fuel gauge and the temp gauge when she turns off the ignition the gauges reset to the left  then immediately show half way... but when she puts the ignition on they reset to the left then show their correct readings...Anyone have any ideas....

Thanks in advance

Have a look here

and here

on looking for a nano second at the links it appears to be a instrument cluster fault and in both links suggest getting the instrument cluster changed. I really have no idea as to why you may be having this problem other than suggested in the links that your instrument pannel cluster is broken somehow.

Dont change the instrument panel as you will have to get it remapped to your car and its costly!. I had the same problem and I sent it off to get it refurbished. It cost me around £109 all in and it comes with a lifetime warranty. Here are the contact details of the company I used.
