hi, at the begining of the week i took apart both headlights and sprayed the insides black and the put them back togeather and let them dry over night in the airing cupboard. when i come to put them on the next day i noticed that when i took them outside there was condensation inside the headlamp.... so i removed them that night to let them dry a bit more cause i thought it may have been the moisture from the silicone i used.. next morning i look at them and they were clear so i put them back on my car, but they then started to mist up again.... is there anyway to fix this problem? thanks

ive done loads of them and never had that problem. did you touch inside the light lens? if so did you clean it thoroughly. also you shouldnt have done it the way you mention above what you should have done is take off the lens and take the front part out then paint it then put it in the airing cupboard overnight then refit it the next day

i think the solvents in the paint are causing the condensation that and/or dirty inside the lens. the paint needs to breathe as it dries, the solvents are coming out of the pqaint the most for the first day and they still come out after they are dry also

as for sealing you should use a bead of gasket sealer or silicone or tiger seal 2-3mm on the frame of the light any more and it will ooze out.

thanks for the reply..... Oh i got you. well after i painted the lens black i waited about an hour for it to dry then put it back togeather. I also used some white sprit on the inside of the lense to get any dirty of but i used a cloth to dry it off with. will i have to seperate the lights again to solve the problem?

when you put the lights in the airing cupboard did you leave the rear panel open ??? ( if you did then it should have let most of the moist air from the piant still drying get out etc, if not then that may be the problem, its got loads of moist air inside it )

if not then hair drier pointed in to the back or AC vent inside the car ( one per footwell to fill the lamp with dry air & it should sort the problem out of a while & a big pack of the silicon pellet stuff may also help too but the fogging should settle down after a while.
Too many mods to list in here but they can be seen here
