MK3 Mondeo rear interior light (which is the brightest)

I am going to fit a rear courtesy light in my mk3 mondeo estate.
I was wondering which type of light is the brightest, the oval shaped one, or the one with the two map reading lights.
So the single oval light vs the three lights switched on with the map reading light type.
It's so dark in the back, I need to light it as much as possible.

Thanks,

Keith.

Mine had the triple light unit fitted as standard.
Pop a few good LEDs in there and the light output can be doubled.

In my last mk3 I also fitted submarine lights to the rear unit so the rear passengers laps were illuminated at night.

mmmmmm, its getting dark out now so must dig out the big old box(s) of interior lighting I have in the shed & get em stuck up on here :D

as above, 3 light unit is the newer type & generally gives off the best output BUT can still be improved with a good selection of LED bulbs & also the addition of the diodes like mentioned above to bring on the maplights with the main light with the doors open etc.

I used to have the maplight ON mod on mine but never bothered refitting the diodes to the new interior lights when I swapped to mk4 units when a pair became available ( well mk4 front & fezzy front @ the rear in order to get OEM submarine lighting at the back :D ), I got a set of stonking LED bulbs made up by a chappy on here & never really bothered thinking I needed more light after that so never bothered refitting the diodes to get the maplights ON too :}
