Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you send the wall across the field once you've hit it.

This sounds like a similar problem my Mrs had with her Fiesta. There is a kind of valve (name escapes me at the moment) which moves when you turn the heater dial. It mixes the air from outside to the heat coming from the engine.

It sounds like the valve has got stuck in the cold (air from outside position)

It had to go into Fords and didn't take very long to fix.

That’s right. If you ask me this is the most common problem with mondeo. I read about it on many places on the web, I have exactly the same problem and my friend has it too, unfortunately I couldn’t find the reason for this problem and this is very strange because it is so common but nobody knows what is wrong with it.
So does anyone knows what needs to be fixed, changed or whatever to cure this, this is so irritating.
I’m sorry English is not my mother language so I probably made a lot off grammar errors.
Regards!

I had this with the EATC in my MK3.

Firstly I cleaned all the dust and crud from the interior air temperature sensor (behind the little vents on the cowling below the steering wheel.

Secondly I replaced the sensor.

Thirdly I set the EATC to manual and all seems fine!

This is from this site I found yesterday, seems to be relevant to only one year but I hope it helps :-

http://www.bba-reman...s_and_solutions

Ford Mondeo 2002
Problem: Only cold air from heater even on hot setting.
Solution: This year Mondeo is known to suffer from a sticking temperature flap in the heater housing. The solution is to use a torx T50 and free the temperature flap.

This was really bugging the hell out me yesterday. I leave mine on auto all the time, driving down the motorway in a t-shirt and temp at 22, then it starts blowing cold air! I have to put it up to Hi to fix it.

Does anyone know what the temperature flap looks like or how to get to it?
