Just a quick query but when this is done and you have to refit the new cams to 60 degrees before TDC, are they to remain 60 degrees after the 2 turns of the crankshaft with a wrench once the timing belt has been fitted? ONce the engine starts do they go back to 0 degrees with the crankshaft?
I am about to complete all of this but dont want to start the car and damage the valves. If anyone knows or had the same experience welcome to any help. I have a 1.8 mk2 black top

Problem solved I have just reinstalled them at 0 degrees and they are running smoothly when turning over with wrench by hand. I think that the valves were touching in the way i tried to install before.
