Hi all,

I've a 2.0 facelift 53 plate tdci that has issues starting whilst cold. I've changed the glow plugs for new and swapped the relay for a known serviceable item.

After a few attempts the battery dies but will jump start after a while.

Just wondering if anyone out there could give me some advice.

I'll be calling green flag out in the morning to do a battery check for me.

If it's the original battery then that's probably your problem.

Fingers crossed it's as simple as that but it doesn't look like a particularly old battery.

+1 on a new battery. you would be surprised at how many people have to change batteries that are just a few years old!! A decent battery is crucial for diesels because of the high start up drain.

I think the test is flawed with an almost dead battery. Its virtually guaranteed that they will say

the battery is scrap.

If you charge the battery, They may say its OK and look further into it.
