Hello,

My car is currently running a ZVH with DCOM carbs.

I want to convert it to Omex and ITBs.

However, my first step is to get the CPS working.

It currently has a flywheel that doesn't have the required pick up on it, therefore I need to swap it for one that works.

It is a 2l Zetec bottom end, but the 2l flywheel won't fit in the BC box bellhousing, therefore I must use the Escort EFi flywheel or the 1.8 zetec flywheel.

I have heard stories where people have done this but couldn't get the CPS working as the pickup is in said to have been in a different place on the 2l flywheel.

Therefore, I ask, which CPS do I need with which flywheel for this to work correctly?

thanks for any response

I suspect that this is the reason most of these engines run carbs. or they were when I had time to read about them!

the issue isn't the CPS itself as they only pick up on a point on the flywheel. the issue will be concerned with the position of the point that the CPS picks up on, on the flywheel.

ive never done one of these conversions but unless theres a huge gain to be had, I'm not sure id bother, purely due to the cost.

of course the other option would be to fit the gearbox (or at least bell housing, I cant remember if theyre separate) from a later escort with a zetec engine, so that the bellhousing DOES fit over the flywheel.
