Hi there just got a Mk1 Ghia v6 but the cd code isn't in the book only the R/C one, tried a ford dealer but they couldn't do the cd codes only the R/C?
Neither of their code prgrams give out a 4 digit code from the seiriel number, only gives a 3 digit one, is this usuall?

3 digit code is correct for a 2040 :L

Mine has 4 dashes and i cant enter any code (shuffle button i beleive )unless there are 4 digets selected as the code?

1st diget Skip forward
2nd diget scan
3rd diget play/pause
4th diget Rewind
enter shuffle button
or do i have the entry sequenve wrong?
the car had been sitting without a battery for a few weeks.

totally unconnected to your problem , but .............. , have you checked to see if it has a metal water pump or not ????? :L

No not as yet, do they cause a problem?
i do have a knock coming from the front but the P/S is playing up as well so i thought it may be the PS pump.

Anyone else had this problem, must be somone out there had it, theres no L,C or M number only a seirial number on the lables?? with will only generate a 3 didget code not the 4 the 2040 needs???

Still can't get a 4 didget code :evil:
been to 4 dealers now and they swear theres only a 3 didget code for the CD but mine has 4!
Only thing i can find out is that a few people with scorpios have the same problem with the 2040 but not all of em, did ford get em made by 2 different companys or sumink?
driving me mad tha tford don't even know their own code system :thumbdown:
