no sub pre out, although i suppose you could use a gizmo that connects to the speaker wires..

There are a lot of views on the 9000, im very much for as ive used this unit for a couple of years now.

£350 is about the going rate for them, my spare sold for £320.

They are a built in unit, no more straining to hear voice instructions, will connect to a 6 disc changer. TMC would be nice but theres a long standing fumble with this. As for Nav Discs i use a 2003 version, ok, its out of date but go out an spend £120 on a new one, only to find 6 months down the line that the road network has changed again. I've only ever come across 2 roads not listed on my travels so i dont think updates on an annual basis is worth the cost.

The 9000, apart from aftermarket units, is the on ly unit that can be fitted to Mk1 /2 and early Mk3. There are the Travelpilots for later Mk3 with monochrome screens available so its all down to personal taste. I think that if you did buy it, and got fed up after a year or so, just monitor the market and see what the prices are like, i dont think you'd make much of a loss if you sold it, especially if its all complete and ready to bolt in which most people prefer.

VNR 9000

Advantages

plug and play
lowers the music volume when giving instructions
No wires trailing over dashboard

Disadvanatges.

Been no updated cd since 2003
If you want music & navigation at same time then you need multichanger
No postcode entry

I noticed a good sound difference as well when i fitted mine, apparently has better output over the other models.

I have seen ones go on ebay for the £350 mark without autochangers.

personally now i woudnt pay over £250 for one.

They come up more frequently in Germany on ebay.de keep an eye out there for one

The 9000 CAN support postcode entry, the 2003 disk hasn't got the data on it though. IF they ever bring out an updated disk for it then it will have postcode support.

There have been lots of issues with the disk but its worth noting that the US now has a variant of the 9000 on current models so there is some hope...
