I was stopped by the police a few days ago. All the rear lights were off, as was the dash board light.

I was talking to a mate who said he knew somebody who had a similar problem, having all rear lights off. It turned out to be a very minor problem which was fixed quickly by an auto electrician.

Any ideas what it could be. I can't get hold of my mates mate to ask him directly

Check arrowed contacts in the connector for burning....If there is burning,clean them,then close the contacts back together..
