Just got my car and taken out the panisonic stereo to put in my DVD player and found this spare blue wire :roll:

I guess the plug that isn't going anywhere is for the steering wheel controls ?

It looks like it's taped in. The blue wire for the antenna doesn't appear to have anywhwere to go so it could be that. If not, has the car had any previous kind of install (amps or a phone kit)? It could be summat to do with that.

More than likely a mute wire for a phone kit .

That is a wire thats been used to mute the audio , its had a phone kit fitted at some point , it would have been poked into the 2nd hole below the white/green trace speed pulse wire on that socket

It did have a phone kit install, in fact the speaker is still in the passenger footwell.

I made it safe and put my stereo in, it all works and thats what matters
