Autobox sensors

Hi, just done a diagnostic check on my non-starting 1998 mondeo ghiax v6 and I got a p0708 code 'Trans Range Sensor High Input'. As I didn't know what this is I googled it and another ford site came up but this was describing a ford cougar and it was the sensor for the gearlever.I take it that the cougar is the american cousin of the mondeo, and in my haynes manuel it discribes a selector lever position sensor. Is this the same thing and is it easy to fit and are they very expensive. Sorry this is very long winded but i hope some-one can help me thanks in advance.
