I cannot get any gears. I can go through the box with the engine off but not with the engine on. The clutch feels fine, cant see any loose connections gear linkage wise. Mk2 1.8 petrol manual. whats going on?????

Well if all the gears are there when the engines off then i reckon the box is probably ok, and so is the linkage. Sounds like the clutch isnt disengaging to me but i could be wrong? Something connected to the clutch has come off?

Shes gone to Dorchester Ford. Mechanic came and had a look and said the clutch is not disengaging. £621 fitted :angryfire: :shocked: :shocked: anyhoo, thats life.

could put it in gear, handbrake off and then fire the starter - may un-jam something.

unless already committed i would shop about m8 ,should be able to get it done cheaper than that.

I hate to say it but Ford were A. One of the few garages that would touch a Mondeo Clutch and B. They could do it next week and the nearest garage had a 2 week waiting list. The 1 downside of Mondeo ownership, the bloody clutch. Waaaay to expensive to fix, Ford should have made it easier to get the gearbox open.
