Bore = 84.8mm
Stroke = 88.0mm

The Blacktop has shorter piston skirts but the displacement is the same.

its got shorter pistons, but longer rods, but total length is teh same. Just makes the swinging angle less

they are definatly the same. Just cant find any evidence to prove it. lol

If you really wanted to know and dont belive me then maybe teh focus forums would be best as obviously other will just assume on here taht they are teh same. The focus never came with a silvertop to confuse teh matter

Haven't blacktops a comp ratio of 9,6:1, and the silvertops 10:0?

hi yes the silver top is 1998cc and the black top is 1989cc

That's right. Every Zetec E engine have 1988cc displacement. Even the St170 and the Rs engine.
