Fitted them today, dead easy to fit just had to pop the strut from the boot then strip clipped on and stuck with double sided tape. Very tidy and unnoticeable when fitted. No more dripping boot at last. :)

Photos below of strips and before and after fitting.
Make sure boot is propped up as one strut will not hold the boot and it is VERY heavy

Well the strips don't seem to be working!! Lots of rain over night and the water came pouring in, worse than before. Before the strips when i opened the boot most of the water flowed outside the car it was as the flow got weaker it started to come inside, this morning with the strips it almost seemed like the water cant get down the tunnel in the strips fast enough so backs up and consequently goes in the boot. I'm going to experiment with opening the boot slower to see what happens then. If not i'll be back to ford for my money back.

From what i can remember with this, the only way round it is a modified screen with the rubbers built in.

That is what Ford did with previous complaints.

When you go back to the garage have a look at newer models and the difference with yours.

Must be a heck of a lot of standing water on he tailgate Darlofan. I see your parked uphill in your drive which is how mine is usually parked. Its persisting it down here are the moment and thoght I'd see how much water runs off the strips with a quick open of the talgate.

Compared to what runs straight of the glass into the upper trough what comes off the strips is quite low.

The only issue I've had as many other too, and I've posted on the forum with this, is water coming out of the tailgate itself and giving you a brief shower. I have actually cured this with the exception of a couple of drips as the tailgate reaches fully raised position, by adding additional drain holes in the tailgate edge.
Having had the infernal shower on opening the boot I also drilled additional holes in the plastic tailgate section and this really does seem to have made a big improvement - now I only get a few drips, nothing like what I had before. :)

Ah, you did do it too!!
Yeah and it had a good test today with the torrential downpours that we have had. Opened the boot and just a few drips - additional shower problems solved !!!
I got the strips to fix to my tailgate, but on inspection I don't immediately see how I detatch the struts from the tailgate. Does anyone have info on how to do this so I don't damage things in the process.

Thanks for any help in advance...

Chris
All done now - just needed to lift the metal tab on the struts and they come off easily...

Hope you remembered to prop the boot open? I didn't and its surprising how heavy the boot is with only 1 strut supporting it!!
Strips work a treat if you open the boot slower but not quickly.
