Got a job to do on a MK2 1.8 petrol, i need to remove the rear drums. Does anybody know the torque for the large hub nut in the center, and the torque figure for the 4 bolts that hold the stub axel on from the back?
as Prais said they just slip off that is if the shoes havnt worn an endge on the back of the drum.....once the drum is off grind any excess ridge/lip off the back..............
there is usually a hole somewhere, you can get a screwdriver in and sqeeze the spring so that the shoes to allow the drun to come off.
it was like that on my old pug and i think i've seen something similar in haynes for the mondys drums.
Yes, theres a rubber grommet at the back of the hub, that allows access to the adjusters. Dont forget to release the handbrake or you`ll never get them off!
