Cambelt change ? What do ford normally charge ?

what do you reckon to this ????

Cheers
Its widely reported that Ford will warranty the belt to 100k if the car has been properly serviced but there doesn't appear to be anything in writing.

Its all accademical anyway because its always the tensioner that fails causing the belt to slip and Ford do not warranty the tensioner.

Ford charge £220-£300 depending on your location. Independant garages will start from £150. Make sure you use a belt kit with tensioners and idlers. Genuine Ford or Gates (who make the belts for Ford) is recommended

Thanks for that - they say change the water pump too while you're at it. Been considering it for a while - too old and disinterested to do it myself - might have a word with the local garage see what they charge. Where can I get hold of a cambelt kit rather than a Ford dealer - I see Gates kits ( OEM spec ) are favoured ?

Cheers
