Just wondering where the law stands on this?

If i placed a factory order for a new car on dealer premises and left a deposit(car not scheduled to be built for at least 3 weeks), where would i stand legally regarding cancelling and getting a full refund if i changed my mind a week later?

You've technically entered into a binding contract there - offer, acceptance and consideration (the deposit, money) all in place. There might be a 'break' clause in the contract but it's likely to come with a compensation obligation attached.

I think it'd be very unlikely if you'd be able to get out of it and get all of your money back - it doesn't matter if the car hasn't been built yet. Check if there's a cooling off period in the contract - there might be but again I think unlikely.
