chiping the V6

Im looking at chipping my st200 and have looked at bluefin now it will only increase bhp by 10. If i took the car for a live rolling map would i see ang much more of a gain than this? Reason im questioning it is i have to travel to get a rolling map and with the traveling cost would it be worth while?

bluefin doesnt add 10bhp on the st200, it adds more like 3-5bhp tops. its never worked well on the mk1/mk2 v6's or zetecs, but does work well on other types of engine

most people have to travel for mapping, i've always had to. and yes it is well worth it (you will get a proper gain).

Cheers well im not paying Â£250 for 3-4bhp. Live map it is then.

if you are planning any other bolt-on mods like induction kit, throttle body, headers, y-pipe, decat etc then get them done before the mapping and you'll get a much better result.

Was going down that route but just going to get rid of the cat and thats it really not hoping for huge gains from a remap but would like alittle for my money.

hi sorry to but in but how much is a live map as i only have a piper cross induction kit and stainless exhaust from cat back would i get much gain and does anyone know where to get it done im in hertfordshire thanks and sorry again

Remapping non-turbo cars isnt always successful. I would spend money elsewhere, removing the cats, fitting new headers, and optimising the induction. You really need to go aftermarket to get some real power from remapping, and its gives flexibility for future mods.

That threads alittle confusing. Just to make sure i take it this is now happening at redbitz in birmingham and not powerstation??

Yeah is bit confusing, happeneing at redbitz. Only makes sense if reading last few pages really.

Cheaper than a Bluefin and will actually do something, do it!

Maybe stick on one of Shaun's big new air cone filters too on the day? Just a thought, should get something extra from that. With a bigger air filter and de-cat 10bhp+ is perfectly possible and likely!
