chipped tddi lx 90bhp ?

i just looked over the tread about chipping and remapping tddi/tdci engines.

i have got rid of my 01 zetec tddi 115bhp as engine problems so got another one its 01 lx tddi 90bhp but the car is so slow compared to my old one aswell as everything feels so cheap inside.

so i want some more power and was wondering if any one else has chipped or remapped a 90bhp mondeo and what was it like before and after?

is it worth the effort? what power would i really get as they all say around 30 bhp gain

the 90ps was aimed at the taxi market i thought, but not many about
your old mondeo is in the in the town i live in Tipperary mate .90 bhp are very common in Ireland .they do lack power .go for a remap or a tuning box you would get some power gains :)
hi thanks for the reply, so could i be wrong are all lx 90bhp and zetec 115bhp? that in the tddi engine not the tdci as they are 115bhp and 130bhp.

ah yeah the mondeo i had i swaped it for a 02 passat and money, good to know its still floating about.
I thought all TDDi's were 115bhp, the TDCi's are 115bhp & 130bhp fitted to all models accross the range and the 90bhp was a fleet order special - no particular trim. I've certainly seen LX's, Zetec's and Ghia's available in 115 or 130bhp.
this could be so for the uk, but other country's like ireland were are cars cost so much they also sell the cheap models for people who cant afford extras, were way over charged that why we import so much, better quality for money

so how is it vans can be bought the other way (ROI to the UK) and be cheaper, albeit usually with no warranty?
Not sure if its the same now but i think vans in ROI were TAX/VAT exempt.

Thats why they made a lot of Fiesta XRV's (XR2 van)

They sold a lot over there, very few in the UK.
